Jeffrey T. Sampson

Jeffrey T. Sampson:

Jeffrey T. Sampson was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 23, 1967. He received his B.B.A. with honors in management from the University of Kentucky, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. He graduated in 1989 and then obtained his J.D. degree from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1992. Mr. Sampson is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Justice Association, and the Kentucky Justice Association. He is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Bar Association/Young Lawyer's Section. He has lectured to professional groups on the subjects of medical malpractice and workers' compensation. He is repeatedly identified by the Kentucky Trial Court Review as one of Kentucky's Most Prolific Trial Lawyers. Mr. Sampson is a member of Southeast Christian Church in Louisville. He is married with three children, and enjoys time with his family, snow skiing and golf.

Mat A. Slechter

Mat A. Slechter:

Mat A. Slechter was born in Louisville, Kentucky on January 7, 1967. He obtained his B.A. in Economics and Management in 1989 from Centre College, where he was member of the varsity basketball team, the Phi Delta Theta fraternity and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He earned his J.D. from the University of Louisville School of Law in 1992 while working as a clerk at the Office of the United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky. Mr. Slechter is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, the Louisville Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the American Justice Association, and the Kentucky Justice Association. He is admitted to practice law in the state of Kentucky, the federal courts of the Eastern and Western Districts of Kentucky and the Eastern District of Michigan. He is a former member of the Board of Governors of the Kentucky Bar Association/Young Lawyer's Section and served as a delegate to the American Bar Association's national Young Lawyers' Association convention in San Antonio, Texas. He is regularly identified by the Kentucky Trial Court Review as one of Kentucky's Most Prolific Trial Lawyers. He has lectured to professional groups on the subjects of nursing home neglect and abuse, legal writing and workers' compensation. Mr. Slechter is a member of Springdale Community Church in Louisville. He is married and has three children. He enjoys hunting, fishing, golfing and spending time with his family.

Jeremy J. Nelson

Jeremy J. Nelson:

Jeremy J. Nelson was born in Pontiac, Michigan on April 24, 1974, but, as a Louisville resident since 1984, Louisville and Kentucky are unquestionably home. Prior to graduating cum laude with his J.D. from the University of Louisville in 2006, Mr. Nelson earned a B.A. in Mathematics from Western Kentucky University in 1996 and M.S. in Sport Administration from the University of Louisville in 2003. After completing his undergraduate degree, Mr. Nelson began a seven year teaching career at Louisville's Ballard High School. In addition to his classroom responsibilities, Mr. Nelson coached the Varsity and Junior Varsity field hockey teams, was the Assistant Director of Athletics, and, at various times, held positions on each of the school's Budget, Attendance, and Hiring Committees. While in law school, Mr. Nelson was a member of the Brandeis Law Journal editorial board, served as Vice Dean of the Delta Theta Phi service fraternity, and competed on the National Health Law moot court team. Mr. Nelson also served as a Civil Procedure research assistant, a summer intern for the Kentucky Real Estate Commission, and a summer associate at a large regional law firm. After law school Mr. Nelson joined that law firm, leaving after his second year to join Sampson & Slechter. Mr. Nelson is a member of the American, Kentucky, and Louisville Bar Associations. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Mr. Nelson is a member of Southeast Christian Church where he teaches an adult Bible class and coaches his children's soccer teams. Mr. Nelson is married with three children. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, writing, and playing indoor soccer and golf.
